Food Hamper Project

The food hamper project was initially set up as a response to the pandemic, however it has grown organically over time, and continues to grow, as more families than ever request food hampers at school holiday times to support their families due to food poverty and increasing levels of people needing support for the first time. Ellesmere Port Parish is within the bottom 10% of the country for deprivation, therefore our project is desperately needed, and not only does it make a significant difference towards reducing food poverty and disadvantage, but in turn this positively impacts physical and mental health.

We provide food hampers to over 150 local families, identified with the support of our local schools, at every school holiday time, when families require additional support due to their children not having free school meals. We also add hygiene products to the hampers as we requested feedback from families and such products were sought after. If you are interested in supporting this project, please contact us on the community email address to discuss this further.

GAPPI
This initiative allows people to donate sanitary products in our collection locations, and we then distribute items to places where they may be needed around the community, for example GP surgeries, the library etc. We also supply these items to help support our hamper project.
