A mix of trips out, or activity days closer to home either based at church or a local park. For example, trips to the beach, the Welsh mountain Zoo, a bug hunt in the park, a bingo afternoon, Christmas crafts, an animal adventure day with live animals at church etc. We aim to give families experiences that they may not have experienced before, and cannot typically afford for themselves. We also provide meals for families during these days too. We are aiming to reduce food poverty, but also reduce social isolation within the community.
We offer an activity day during every school holiday, and aim to offer more during the summer holidays. This is another large project that relies heavily upon grant funding and fundraising. We hope to work with local businesses to see what can be offered to the community to share further experiences in the future as new opportunities for our families are invaluable.
