Why consider leaving a gift in your will to Ellesmere Port PCC?
Once you have made provisions for your loved ones, you have the opportunity to make a lasting gift to God, by leaving a legacy to His church. In doing so you are expressing your gratitude and thanksgiving towards God for all you have been given and enjoyed during your life.
Legacy gifts are one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can continue to support our mission and ministry within the community. They often enable us to achieve something we could not normally do and should you wish can be channelled to specific missions, community projects, the fabric of the church or in some other way.
Many of us are asset rich, but cash poor, so a legacy gift is a means one can express generosity at a level which may not have been possible earlier in life. As a Christian you will have given a proportion of your income during your life, so it is right to give a proportion of your estate on death, thus securing the work of the Church for future generations.
Scripture tells us that Jesus was only able to do his work because of the generosity of his friends and supporters, which is why we are asking you to please consider leaving Ellesmere Port PCC (EPPCC) a legacy gift in your will.
Please remember your will can be amended at any time to reflect changing circumstances, but if the church is not included in your Will, then we will not receive a legacy gift.
Inheritance Tax relief
In many cases, you can reduce inheritance tax on your estate and increase the amount available for your loved ones by leaving a gift to a charitable organisation such as EPPCC. For more information on the tax relief you can receive when leaving a charitable gift in your will you can visit the governments (gov.uk) on Leaving gifts to charity in your will
Write your will for free
Alongside the Church of England, we are partnering with award-winning will provider, Farewill, to offer a free will-writing service. The service is available to everyone, and Farewill will give you an optional opportunity to leave a gift for EPPCC after you’ve provided for your loved ones.
Many people find they can do their will online in only 30 minutes.
If you don’t feel confident writing a will online, you can make your will over the phone with one of Farewill’s specialists by calling Farewill on 0208 050 2686 and mentioning ‘Church of England’, that will be free under the CofE partnership.
